Author Guidelines

Journal of Cultural Literacy and Education (JCLE) is a peer-reviewed and open-access academic journal that publishes high-quality scholarly works in the fields of cultural literacy, education, language, literature, and socio-cultural studies. The journal emphasizes interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches in exploring contemporary educational and cultural issues at local, national, and global levels.

JCLE provides a scientific platform for researchers, academics, teachers, practitioners, and students to disseminate innovative research findings, conceptual studies, and critical analyses related to literacy, cultural studies, educational development, language teaching, literary studies, and social transformation through education.

The journal welcomes original manuscripts including research articles, literature reviews, and theoretical studies that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in humanities and education. Areas covered by the journal include cultural literacy, educational innovation, language and literature education, local wisdom, digital literacy, multicultural education, educational policy, and socio-cultural transformation.

Journal of Cultural Literacy and Education (JCLE) is published periodically and is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, and professional peer review practices. All published articles are freely accessible under an open-access policy to support the global exchange of knowledge and academic collaboration.

JCLE adopts a Double-Blind Peer Review process and strives to follow international standards of scholarly publishing ethics and best practices in academic journal management.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to ensure that their manuscripts comply with all of the following items. Submissions that do not follow these guidelines may be returned to the authors for revision before being considered for publication.

  • Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Cultural Literacy and Education (JCLE) must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • The manuscript should be relevant to the journal’s focus and scope in the fields of cultural literacy, education, language, literature, and socio-cultural studies.

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear, academic, and grammatically correct English. Authors are strongly encouraged to conduct professional proofreading before submission.

  • The manuscript must be prepared using Microsoft Word and follow the journal template and author guidelines provided by JCLE.

  • All citations and references should follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style.

  • Authors are required to submit manuscripts electronically through the journal’s online submission system. Submissions via email are not accepted.

  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

  • Authors must ensure that all data, references, and quotations used in the manuscript are properly cited and free from plagiarism.

  • All submitted manuscripts will undergo a Double-Blind Peer Review process conducted by at least two reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript topic.

  • Authors agree that the editorial team has the right to edit the manuscript without changing its substance for publication purposes.

  • Journal of Cultural Literacy and Education (JCLE) is an open-access academic journal committed to maintaining publication quality, academic ethics, and scholarly integrity.

    Guidelines for Authors

    Journal of Cultural Literacy and Education (JCLE) is a peer-reviewed and open-access academic journal that publishes scholarly articles in the fields of cultural literacy, education, language, literature, and socio-cultural studies. The journal aims to provide a scientific platform for researchers, academics, teachers, practitioners, and students to disseminate research findings, conceptual studies, and critical analyses related to education and culture from interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary perspectives.

    Manuscripts submitted to the editor of JCLE will be considered for publication if they meet the following criteria:

    1. The manuscript must contain original scholarly work related to literacy, education, language, literature, culture, media studies, or socio-cultural transformation.

    2. The manuscript must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal or publication platform.

    3. JCLE does not accept manuscripts that are purely bibliometric studies, simple literature reviews without clear academic contribution, or articles outside the journal’s focus and scope.

    4. Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English using American English style (English US). Authors are strongly encouraged to use professional proofreading services before submission.

    5. Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word and follow the official JCLE article template.

    6. The manuscript length should be between 4,000–7,000 words, including tables, figures, and references.

    7. The manuscript structure should consist of:

      • Title

      • Author(s) Name

      • Institutional Affiliation

      • Email Address

      • Abstract

      • Keywords

      • Introduction

      • Method

      • Results and Discussion

      • Conclusion

      • References

    8. The title should be concise, informative, and reflect the content of the manuscript clearly.

    9. Authors are not required to include academic titles or degrees. A maximum of seven authors is allowed in one manuscript.

    10. The abstract should be written in one paragraph with a maximum length of 200 words. It should briefly explain the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

    11. Authors should provide a maximum of five keywords representing the core topics of the manuscript.

    12. All citations and references must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style.

    13. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

    14. Every source cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and all references listed must be cited in the manuscript.

    15. References should primarily come from recent scholarly publications, reputable journals, books, and credible academic sources.

    16. All manuscripts submitted to JCLE will undergo a Double-Blind Peer Review process conducted by at least two reviewers.

    17. Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the JCLE online journal system. Submissions via email are not accepted.

    18. Authors are fully responsible for the content, originality, accuracy, and ethical standards of their manuscripts.

    19. JCLE applies an open-access policy to support the global exchange of scientific knowledge and academic collaboration.

    20. Appendix sections are optional and should only include supporting materials relevant to the manuscript.
