Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

Journal of Cultural Literacy and Education (JCLE) implements a rigorous Double-Blind Review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published articles. In this review system, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. This policy is intended to maintain objectivity, fairness, and professionalism while minimizing potential bias related to authors’ institutional affiliation, nationality, gender, or academic reputation.

All manuscripts submitted to JCLE will undergo an initial evaluation by the editorial team to assess their suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, writing guidelines, originality, and overall academic quality. Manuscripts that pass the preliminary screening will be forwarded to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the submitted topic.

The reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on several criteria, including:

  • originality and contribution to knowledge,

  • relevance to the journal scope,

  • methodological rigor,

  • clarity of analysis and discussion,

  • quality of references and academic writing.

The review process generally takes approximately 4–8 weeks depending on the availability of reviewers and the revision process. Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editorial board will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept Submission

  • Revisions Required

  • Resubmit for Review

  • Decline Submission

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments and recommendations. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation when necessary. In certain cases, the Editor may assign additional reviewers before making a final decision.

The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection is determined by the Editor in Chief based on reviewers’ recommendations and editorial considerations. Accepted articles will be scheduled for publication according to the journal issue planning and publication timeline.

JCLE is committed to upholding publication ethics and best practices in scholarly publishing in accordance with the principles of transparency, fairness, and academic integrity.
